Blackpool: Glamping Pods

07:44

After our adventure to Dorset, Tom and I where itching to go somewhere else for a few nights and i was nagging about going to see the Blackpool Lights after i heard they had been turned on. So of course we started looking at b&b's and hotels, everything was stupidly expensive but of i wasn't surprised everyone wanted what we did around that time of year - to see the lights! When all hope was lost i was browsing 'Wowcher' when 'Glamping at Blackpool' appeared. A voucher to stay in a little wooden pod for two nights for 40 pounds. I bought it straight away! We stayed at Stanley Villa Farm Camping, which i have to say was amazing! The pods where well insulated so we kept warm throughout the night with just enough space for our things but at the same time wasn't too big so we felt like we where living in a little Hobbit hole. There was one guy on site over seeing things, he showed us around and explained about the 'Good Will' rule - nothing was locked up not even the fire wood you needed to pay for, he just asked we paid when we saw him and y'know not to steal anything. This made us feel right at home, he just encouraged the relaxation which was just oozing from the place. The site has a fishing lake and large woods you can walk around, sadly we didn't get to do either because i packed our trip to the brim! After unpacking we headed straight out!

On day one we explored, walked down the piers looking all the little shops and then of course hit the arcades. Tom is an old school arcade sort of person he wanted shooters and horror games where as i love the arcades with the ticket system. After much searching we managed to find a huge one that had both. I finally got to experience the love Tom had for the old school games and i have to say i bloody suck them! I don't think i have laughed as much in my life as i did in them few hours. Just before sunset we headed up to the 'Blackpool tower'.I'm terrified of heights but have always wanted to see the views from the top so i pre-ordered the tickets. I'm not one for wasting money so i knew i would have to go up if i had already bought it. Safe to say i did it! I was terrified, I'm surprised Tom's arm didn't fall off with how much i was squeezing it and i did do a little cry when i got to the very top. The views where amazing and i even walked on the glass floor! Afterwards we hit the casino we found easier, i had never been in one before but i loved it and we are planning to go to a huge one this year for my birthday! I slept like a log that night, we must have walked at least 5 miles walking up and down the sea front, thank the gods we had beautiful sunny weather to keep us company!

Waking up never felt so peaceful, wrapped up cozy in a tiny wooden hut listening to the wildlife around us. All i wanted to do was get out of my bed and explore alas we pre-booked tickets for 'Blackpool Pleasure Beach'! We had a lovely walk down to 'Pleasure beach'. Once again we got beautiful warm and sunny weather to join us. At pleasure beach we did all the best rides at least twice, including the 'The Big One' which i have been terrified of for years but it appears growing up and pushing myself to do things i'm scared of has helped with my fear of heights! Afterwards we went for a 'Pizza Hut' which is a tradition in my family each time we have gone to Blackpool we always went to the same 'Pizza hut'. We spent the night in the arcade from the day before and even nipped into the casino again to loose some more money! We earned enough tickets to get Tom a 'Nerf Gun' he had been eyeing up the day before and is still months later launching surprise attacks on me.

We headed home on the third day with many hopes to go back to the camping site, we plan on going with more people and spending the days on site fishing and walking. Before we went home we 'Blackpool Zoo'! The zoo was the largest one i have ever seen, it even had a dinosaur walk through where it went over the different species and time periods, if anyone read my post about Dorset  you would know how much we love dino's! The zoo was beautiful with short walk between areas and large enclosures for the animals to roam around. They had some animals i had never even seen before (in real life of course). I was amazed when i saw a gorilla for the first time and timber wolves! It really ended our trip on a high...
